Golden Globes: Jennifer Lopez leaves Brie Larson 'in tears' in middle of interview

The Golden Globes is attended by the biggest celebrity names in Hollywood, but Brie Larson has proved she’s just like us when she ‘fangirled’ and got emotional when seeing Jennifer Lopez (J Lo) on the famous red carpet. Honestly, we don’t blame her.

The two stars met for the first time at the 2024 Golden Globes, and it was emotional, to say the least, as they were both left in tears by the end of it. Jennifer Lopez, who is highly credited in music, and acting, has probably had many fans in tears meeting her before, but this time, it was another A-Lister in a heartwarming moment.

Brie Larson gets emotional meeting J Lo at Golden Globes

It was a normal Award Show Red Carpet for The Marvel actor, who would have done so many in her Hollywood career. That was until, J Lo showed up, and she lost all composure, understandably.

During Brie Larson’s interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Jenny From The Block singer could be seen in the background, and it was all over from there as the movie star exclaimed: “Oh my God, I’m gonna cry! I can’t deal with J Lo!”

As Lopez, who attended the awards with hubby Ben Affleck, walked towards the pair, Brie with tears in her eyes said: “You mean so much to me!” To her delight, the singer said she was “such a huge fan.”

“I saw Selena, and it made me wanna be an actor, and you’ve always meant so much to me,” Larson told the 54-year-old, in tears. The 1997 movie saw Jennifer play the role of Selena Quintanilla-Pérez in a biographical musical drama about the music star.

The emotion and compliment got too much for the singer, who could also be seen wiping a tear away as she exclaimed: “Oh my god, don’t make me cry.”

After all the unexpected emotion in the air, Brie announced she needed a shot of tequila, walked away and joked: “I don’t know if the interview’s done, but it has to be.”

Honestly, Brie, we understand.

The Fast X star was nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television for her role of Elizabeth Zott in the miniseries Lessons in Chemistry at the Awards.

Fans gush over the ‘truly special’ moment

As the heartwarming video went viral on X, formerly known as Twitter, fans rushed to the platform to fangirl over Larson’s fangirl moment.

“Her words about ‘Selena’ and the impact on her acting journey are truly special,” tweeted one.

“She’s just like us, for real,” said another.

One fan, who agreed with the 34-year-old exclaimed: “JLO getting her credit! Y’all play on her every day, but her career and longevity is unmatched!”

“I love seeing celebs excited about other celebs. Like, so you’re just a human like me,” tweeted a fellow fan girl.
