Kurt Cobain's daughter marries son of celebrity who dominated our childhoods

Kurt Cobain’s daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, has married skateboarder Riley Hawk, son of icon skateboarder, Tony Hawk.

The new celebrity couple‘s marriage was confirmed earlier today, two weeks after they tied the knot.

The pair tied the knot earlier this month in Los Angeles after getting a marriage license in September in San Diego County, TMZ reports, as they obtain court documents.

According to the publication, the newlyweds tied the knot on October 7, and although not much more is known about the event, it looked like it was a celebrity-studded event, and music star, R.E.M frontman Michael Stipe is said to have performed the ceremony.

Stripe is godfather to Frances, with her godmother being Drew Barrymore.

It is thought that the couple have been dating since the start of 2021, although it wasn’t confirmed until the beginning of last year, via Instagram.

She announced the relationship in a slideshow of pics, after taking a year break from the app, and posted a ‘cuddled up’ pic of the two hidden away in the slides.

In the caption, the 31-year-old penned: “I took a year long break from posting on Instagram which was exceptionally good for my mental, emotional & spiritual health. 2021 brought me more into the present moment than I’ve ever been, which I’m deeply grateful for.”

Frances was previously married to Isaiah Silva

Although this is Riley’s first marriage, Frances was previously married to musician Isaiah Silva.

They tied the knot in the Summer of 2014, however, it wasn’t meant to be, and they filed for divorce just two years later.

Although the two never had children together, they did end up in a custody battle, over one of Kurt Cobain’s guitars.

The instrument was the one used during Nirvana’s November 1993 performance on MTV Unplugged. However, it was actually Cobain’s ex-son-in-law who got to keep the guitar, which he claimed was a gift.

Isaiah is not remarried, however, since getting divorced, had a child.
